Winter Solstice occurs when the sun is at its southernmost point, thus it is the shortest day of the year. On this darkest day of the year, we gather together to celebrate the light beginning its return. We will incorporate our knowledge of Mayan culture and tradition in the Sunrise and Sunset Ceremonies. It is obvious the Earth changes are moving rapidly at this point. We will pray and meditate throughout the day for peace and balance to be restore to our bodies, community and planet.

If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant: if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome. ~Anne Bradstreet

Well, it's been many months since we have met together as a group. I apologize for the wait, but it is time to meet again. I have come into possession of an old video named "Father Sun Speaks" that I would like to share with the group. The video documents a historic international pilgrimage to the ancient Mayan sacred sites of the Yucatan, Mexico. Filmed back in the early '90s, Mayan Elder Hunbatz Men delivers the “message of the Maya” that celebrates the end of the 520-year “hell time” and marks the beginning of the Age of Knowledge.

It's a good video that documents our recent history and should be a great primer for conversation amongst ourselves about the current Earth changes we are facing. If you are like me, the last month has been particularly interesting and things seem to really be accelerating at an unprecedented pace.

We will get the video started at 7:30pm. Feel free to come as early as 7pm to relax and visit with the group. The video is just over an hour long and we will stay with the energy for a discussion after the video. During this meeting we will also plan the dates and time for our next gathering.

Only members of this Group can view the location for this Meetup

What is the "Breath of Life"?
http://www.crystalinks.com/rebirthing.jpg

The Breath of Life goes by many names... "Transformational Breathwork", "Rebirthing-Breathwork" and "Conscious Breathing" to name a few. These are a branch of alternative medicine which postulates that specialized rhythmic breathing techniques may have therapeutic benefits.

In these Breathwork practices, the client makes a connected breath without a pause between inhale and exhale or between the exhale and inhale. According to practitioners, this causes a build up of prana or life energy. A state of deep peace and relaxation is achieved fairly easily by most. Breathing sessions are done lying down and usually last one to two hours.

The theories and assumptions behind altered-state breathwork include:

Humans never forget their birth - they just suppress the memory. Proponents posit that humans often access memories from prior lives as well as from the Collective consciousness through this process.
In addition to cerebral memory (based in the brain), humans also possess 'cellular memory', which is distributed amongst the body's cells, tissues, organs etc.
It is possible to gain recall of aspects of birth (also gestation and early childhood) and to release the accompanying emotions; such release usually becomes a decisive, influential and positive 'paradigm shift', often referred to as a 'breakthrough'.
Human breathing is almost universally inadequate; virtually all people are suppressing large amounts of emotional, physical and mental "tensions" and require relatively high levels of CO2 in their blood to keep these tensions suppressed.
The major causes of all human illness are these accumulated tensions; release of such tensions can cause physiological transformation to the point where permanent spontaneous remission from such illness becomes possible or highly probable.
The breathwork and awareness disciplines taught through Rebirthing practice can open a wide connection between the conscious and subconscious minds; and through this connection, a lifetime of trauma can be incrementally and permanently released from the mind and body
Through ongoing release of blocked tensions, and mastery of several disciplines of physical/emotional/spiritual purification, it is possible to arrest the mechanisms of human degeneration, with vast extension of lifespan, even physical immortality, becoming a viable possibility
Rebirthing provides a direct, replicatable, physical experience of Divine Love through the saturation of the body with prana
Conscious breathing releases physical toxins that are stored at a cellular level.

Rebirthing advocates claim that those practicing rebirthing have experienced:
Deep and lasting inner peace
Heightened mental clarity. Greater insight into the human condition
Significant improvements in relationships - intimate, family, social and professional
Greater ability to manage the challenges of career and life in general
Elimination of negative patterns which had been limiting one's success in life
Significant and lasting benefits to health and general well-being
A sense of deeper insight into the purpose of one's existence; a greater sense of one's personal relevance to the world
Permanent physical healing
Direct connection with God-energy or Divine Love
Memories of past lives
Can lead to physical immortality. Many rebirthers are immortalists.

Join us for the most powerful process of opening to the healing power within.

Infinite wisdom flows through your body, mind and soul, allowing the release of traumas, blockages, pain, judgment and negative emotions that have stresses the body, emotions and mind.

Free yourself from all that limits, stresses and holds you back.

What is the Helmtone Drum Protocol?
http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1058/543983336_df9b4c9628_o.jpg
Helmtone Drum Protocols is a unique form of drumming meditation that enhances quality of life by releasing stress and trauma.
"Rhythmically create the world we want"

The Helmtone Healing Drum Protocols is a rhythmic reprogramming system that may possibly change a person?s belief system; alleviating fear, anxiety, trauma, dependency, depression, obsessive/compulsive behavior, grief and other conditions. This rhythmic energetic system may also enhance the quality of life for people with cancer, lupis, hepatitis, stomach ulcers, high blood pressure, ADD, depression, inappropriate anger, low self esteem and other conditions.

This is a user-friendly process that even non-drummers can learn to do for themselves. The drum is needed but not essential. The rhythmic programming is a unique blend of many different modalities including Neuro linguistic programming, EMDR, affirmations, psychotherapy, zen, rhythm n blues, shamanic drumming, transactional analysis, basic computer programming logic, visualization meditation and other modalities.

Join us for an introductory discussion about the Mayan calendars. We'll get started with some basics and move into some interactive excerise. I have some charts to work with, so at a minimum we'll all figure out our birth date according to the Haab and Tzolkin calendars. This, and all the meetings, are an open discussion, meaning everyone is welcome to bring their knowledge, experience and background to the table so that the group can grow through collective insight and reasoning.

A total eclipse of the Moon occurs during the night of Wednesday, February 20/21, 2008. The entire event is visible from South America and most of North America (on Feb. 20) as well as Western Europe, Africa, and western Asia (on Feb. 21). During a total lunar eclipse, the Moon's disk can take on a dramatically colorful appearance from bright orange to blood red to dark brown and (rarely) very dark gray.

An eclipse of the Moon can only take place at Full Moon, and only if the Moon passes through some portion of Earth's shadow. The shadow is actually composed of two cone-shaped parts, one nested inside the other. The outer shadow or penumbra is a zone where Earth blocks some (but not all) of the Sun's rays. In contrast, the inner shadow or umbra is a region where Earth blocks all direct sunlight from reaching the Moon.

http://jrscience.wcp.muohio.edu/lab/lunar_eclipse_diagram.gif

If only part of the Moon passes through the umbra, a partial eclipse is seen. However, if the entire Moon passes through the umbra shadow, then a total eclipse of the Moon occurs. For more information on how, what, why, where and when of lunar eclipses, see the special web page lunar eclipses for beginners.

I have not selected a specific topic for discuss and we will most likely spend time getting to know one another, our interests, and backgrounds. Fifteen Central Floridians just returned from a pilgrimage to the Land of the Sun where we visited many sacred Mayan Ceremonial Centers of the Yucatan and studied with the Calendar Day Keeper and Elder Hunbatz Men of the Itza tribe. We performed much healing and activation work on and around the Winter Solstice. We are all still processing our experiences so I'm sure these insights will be on the table for discussion.
